Documents Collection

The collection holds wartime military maps from the Dubrovnik area used during Croatia’s Homeland War, a high number of Croatian documents testifying to the attack on and defence of Dubrovnik, as well as: documents from Dubrovnik’s Defence Command Headquarters, the Emergency Information Centre, the Red Cross, the Croatian Army’s 163rd Brigade and Dubrovnik General Hospital, maps of minefields, reports on command zones, rolls of Croatian soldiers, correspondence from the archives and documents issued by the Dubrovnik Territorial Defence Command Staff, etc.

The materials in the Documents Collection cover the period between the two World Wars, the post-war years and the latter half of the 20th century. Besides documents issued by institutions and the state authorities, the collection also holds a high number of printed materials and a particularly valuable sub-collection of posters, fliers, notices, declarations and promotional materials from 1919 to 2006, with over eight hundred inventory units.

The collection holds over five thousand documents.
